Biography

Terry Mosher, also known as Aislin, is the doyen of Canadian political cartooning. From his home base in Montreal, he has lampooned public figures for over fifty years, primarily for The Gazette. A member of the Order of Canada, Mosher was recently awarded the Michener-Baxter Award by Canada’s Governor General. This honour is bestowed on individuals who have a history of making consistent, exceptional contributions to journalism. The award announcement highlighted Mosher’s funny, audacious and sometimes outrageous commentary on Canadian life, in addition to his advocacy for some of Canada's most disadvantaged. Aislin’s cartoons continue to be syndicated both nationally and internationally. He has also authored 55 books, the most recent being his amusing perspective on the 36-year history of the Montreal Expos, his beloved major league baseball team. This and several other autographed Aislin books and prints will be available for sale at this year’s Montreal Comiccon.
