Biography

Frank Tieri is an American comic book writer known for work at Marvel, DC, Image, Archie, and several others.

At Marvel Comics, Tieri is known for his work on Wolverine, having written the main title, Wolverine, collaborating with artists Sean Chen and Dan Fraga, and Weapon X, collaborating with artists Georges Jeanty, Andy Park and Tom Mandrake. He has also worked on Deadpool, The Invincible Iron Man, New Excalibur, Hercules, Black Knight and Ravencroft. His most recent works at Marvel include Deadpool: Blood, White and Red and King in Black: Planet of the Symbiotes.

At DC Comics, he teamed-up with artist Jim Calafiore on the 9-part epic, Gotham Underground, that explored the underbelly of the DC Universe and tied into the Countdown crossover event. He also wrote several issues of Lord Havok and the Extremists, Catwoman and a stint of Harley Quinn titles, including Harley Quinn and her Gang of Harleys, Old Lady Harley, and the main title, Harley Quinn.

He also had an unconventionally successful run with Archie Comics under their Archie Horror imprint, with supernatural takes on several of the main cast. The title Jughead: The Hunger, which puts a paranormal spin on why Jughead Jones is always hungry, was intended as a one-shot, but due to it’s huge success, ended up running for 13 issues. He followed that up with Vampironica, which focuses on Veronica Lodge as she navigates becoming a vampire. This led to the inevitable crossover, Jughead: The Hunger vs. Vampironica.
