Eric Johnson is a Canadian actor and director, known for playing villain Jack Hyde in Fifty Shades Darker (2017) and Fifty Shades Freed (2018) and Whitney Fordman, Lana Lang’s romantic interest in the first season of Smallville.
In 2007, he was cast to play the title character in Flash Gordon television series. He later appeared on Rookie Blue as Detective Luke Callaghan, Chad Norris in Orphan Black, and Doctor Everett Gallinger in The Knick. In 2020, Johnson joined the cast of Vikings as Erik, a young outlaw who saves Bjorn’s life, followed by a stint on American Gods, and join the main cast Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin as Sheriff Beasley.
Other feature films of note include Legends of the Fall (1994), in which he played teen version of Brad Pitt’s character, Tristan Ludlow, and Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed (2004), starring alongside Tatiana Maslany and Emily Perkins. His video game works includes providing the voice, motion capture, and likeness to Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell: Blacklist, as well as voicing Ivarr the Boneless in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.
